The functions, duties and powers of the Commission shall be as follows:-
(a) Studying the overall situation of the Muslim community and making recommendations to the Government of Nepal regarding the policy, legal and institutional reforms to be done in this regard,
(b) To formulate a national policy and program for the protection and promotion of the rights and interests of the Muslim community and for the empowerment of such community and recommend to the Government of Nepal for implementation,
(c) To study and investigate whether the provisions related to the protection and promotion of the rights and interests of the Muslim community and the empowerment of such communities have been effectively implemented, and to suggest to the Government of Nepal regarding the steps to be taken to implement them effectively, d) To protect and promote the rights and interests of the Muslim community and that To give suggestions to the Government of Nepal regarding the reforms to be made in the policy, legal and institutional arrangements regarding empowerment (e) To review, monitor and evaluate the implementation of policies and programs related to the Muslim community (f) To monitor or cause the implementation of the recommendations or suggestions made by the commission (g) Recommending to the Government of Nepal to formulate and implement a special program for the development and empowerment of economically or socially backward people within the Muslim community,
(h) To study and research the language, script, culture, history, tradition, literature and art of the Muslim community and formulate a program for the preservation and development of such language, script, culture, history, tradition, literature and art and recommend to the Government of Nepal. (i) To protect and promote the rights and interests of the Muslim community and conduct an awareness program for the empowerment of such community, (j) To end all forms of exploitation and recommend to the Government of Nepal to formulate a program for the empowerment of the Muslim community, (k) Nepal is a party in relation to the Muslim community. Necessary for the implementation of the Nepalese government by monitoring whether the international treaty agreement has been implementedTo recommend or suggest,
(l) Collecting complaints against persons or organizations that violate the rights of the Muslim community and recommending to the relevant authorities to investigate and investigate the matter,
(d) Recommending the Nepal government to list surnames after detailed study and research regarding the identity of the Muslim community (d) To establish a living museum for the preservation and promotion of the material and non-material culture of the Muslim community and to research the origin sites and formulate policies and programs for the protection and promotion of such archeological and historical structures, objects and places and recommend to the Government of Nepal for implementation, h) To review, monitor and evaluate the awareness programs conducted by the Government of Nepal and other organizations for the protection, promotion and empowerment of the rights and interests of the Muslim community,
(p) Study and investigate the backward condition of the Muslim community and the current educational, political, social and economic situation and make suggestions to the government of Nepal for the development of the community. (d) To approve the annual plan and program of the Commission.
